Discover the timeless allure of Spottswoode Winery cabernet wines, the benchmark of Napa cabernet. These remarkable vintages represent a true journey through time, capturing the essence of each growing season and showcasing the evolution of pure winemaking expertise.
Exceptional Terroir For Exceptional Wine
Situated at the foot of the Mayacamas mountains, Spottswoode's vineyard benefits from the ideal Napa Valley terroir. The alluvial clay loam from the Sulphur Creek fan provides superb drainage while cool maritime breezes passing through the gap between Spring Mountain and the Mayacamas range, allow the fruit to ripen slowly providing perfect conditions for fine wines.
With a focus on organic farming, Spottswoode has been committed to organic farming since 1985 and achieved CCOF certification in 1992. This dedication to sustainability and the restoration of the riparian corridor ensures a living, breathing ecosystem that contributes to the highest quality grapes.
Spottswoode Wine Reviews
Double 100 Points for the perfect 2015 Spottswoode
"The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep garnet-purple colored with a mind-blowingly gorgeous nose that defies words: warm cassis, red roses, sandalwood, Indian spices, crushed rocks, menthol and iron ore with wafts of lilacs and truffles. It finishes incredibly long and remains incredibly provocative." Lisa Perrotti-Brown for WA Oct 2018
"Both the 2016 and 2015 are pure perfection and an incredible back-to-back duo. The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate has a kiss of 2007. It’s a big, ripe, exuberant beauty, yet it never goes over the top, and has flawless balance, perfect tannins, and a great finish." Jeb Dunnuck May 2021
A Historically Rich Legacy
Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, Spottswoode Estate is renowned for its wines from their stunning vineyards, meticulously tended to by generations of passionate winegrowers. Established in 1882, Spottswoode Estate has a rich history, and its wines are a testament to the dedication of the Novak family. The Estate is distinguished by the pre-Prohibition Victorian home depicted on the label. Spottswoode was christened by Mrs. Albert Spotts in 1910 and later acquired by Mary and Jack Novak in 1972.
