Domaine Faiveley Wines

Domaine Faiveley has remained one of Burgundy's largest and most prestigious estates since the early 19th century. Home to over 125 hectares in the region, Domaine Faiveley wines express a multitude of terroirs with the same family vision and style since its humble beginnings. The family continue to invest large sums of money into innovating and upgrading the cellars and various technologies, yet stick to traditional winemaking methods to produce deep and rich pinot noir.

Now operated by the sibling duo, Erwan and Eve Faiveley, Domaine Faiveley is in its 7th generation of family winemaking. The pair have purchased a large amount of land in the last fifteen years, including plots in the Grand Cru vineyards, Bienvenues-Bâtard Montrachet and Bâtard- Montrachet. Additional land in Grand Cru sites Corton-Charlemagne, Clos de Vougeot, Charmes Chambertin, and more allow the domaine to create some of the most exciting and jaw-dropping elixirs from the region.

Unlike many of its counterparts, Domaine Faiveley opts to sell 45% of its wine to domestic retailers, only exporting 55% of its productions aborad. Many Burgundy domains often sell up to 90% of their wine abroad, though the Faiveley's believe it is important to honor their Burgundian and French roots. Furthermore, the domain was filed a libel lawsuit against Robert Parker in the mid-1990s after the family felt he disrepected the estate's reputation, illustrating their slight aversion to foreign markets.
