Domaine Denis Bachelet Wines
With humble beginnings in the early 1980s, Domaine Denis Bachelet has risen to Burgundy's elite tier, using some of the region's oldest vines to produce elegant, subtle, and harmonious wines. While the estate only owns 4 hectares of land, 0.43 of which are in the Grand Cru Charmes-Chambertin, the winemaking team has expertly used the remarkable terroirs through organic and biodynamic methods and low-yield farming. The grapes are meticulously hand-picked and sorted, destemmed and lightly crushed, fermented and pressed in a pneumatic press, then finally aged for up to 18 months in 35% new French oak barrels.
The result is an understated cuvée, perfectly matching the personality of head winemaker, Denis Bachelet. As a soft-spoken and reserved individual, Denis Bachelet values quality over quantity, preferring to create delicate wines with low production over flashy bottles catered to the masses. A true Burgundy visionary, his wines are a must-try for any serious drinker.
