Product Description
The 2014 Meursault 1er Cru Sous le Dos d'Ane, which was previously Pinot Noir until it was regrafted with Chardonnay in 1996 and 2000, has a lively, generous bouquet with scents of apricot blossom, peach skin and hints of fresh pear; not as mineral-driven as the Puligny-Montrachet Village, however there is more complexity and charm. The palate is fresh and crisp with a lovely saline note on the entry that neatly offsets the subtle white peach and fresh apricot notes. It has certainly discarded the "Zen-like" personality that was conveyed out of tank. There is a seam of spice here that fans out gloriously on the finish. You could actually drink this now and revel in its hubris, though I would advise resisting temptation and cellaring it away for 3-5 years. Tasted December 2016." NM Jun 2017
