Product Description
JD97 "The 2022 Syrah Unanswered Prayers is more inky and reserved, with tons of gamey black fruits, iron, game, bay leaf, and peppery, bacon fat-like nuances. Needing air to show at its best, it's full-bodied and concentrated, with a broad, layered mouthfeel, a beautiful sense of freshness, ripe tannins, and a great finish. This classic, complex, incredibly compelling Santa Barbara County Syrah has tons to love and a singular character. Hide bottles for just 2-3 years if you can and enjoy over the following 10-15 years." JD Aug 2024
LP96 "The 2021 Unanswered Prayers Syrah comes mainly from Bien Nacido Vineyard, plus smaller proportions from Rancho Boa Vista and Sanford & Benedict Vineyards. Wow—intense notes of iris, anise, juicy plums, and ripe blueberries come barreling out of the glass, giving way to hints of spearmint and Sichuan pepper. The full-bodied palate delivers fine-grained tannins and a lively backbone to support the perfumy flavors, finishing long and fragrant. It is composed of 83% Syrah with 4.7% Grenache, 4.7% Mourvèdre, 4.7% Petite Sirah, and 2.9% of the White Wine (Chardonnay, Roussanne, and Marsanne). It was made using 35% whole clusters and aged for 20 months in French oak, 63% new. 437 cases were made." LPB for TWI Sep 2024
AG96 "The 2021 Syrah Unanswered Prayers was fabulous from barrel, and it is all that today. Inky, deep and voluptuous, the 2021 packs a serious punch. Blackberry jam, gravel, incense, leather, spice and chocolate are all dialed up in this full-throttle Syrah. Dollops of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Petite Sirah and a touch of white grapes round out the blend." AG for VM Aug 2024
JS96 "A concentrated and expressive syrah offering blackberries, plums, dark chocolate, black peppercorns and hints of overturned earth. Deep and bold with a full body and dense but very polished and fine tannins that almost melt in the mouth, ending with a chocolatey, textural aftertaste. Richness and intensity that comes with harmony and poise. Drink or hold." JS May 2024
