Product Description
RP94 "The 1997 Barbaresco Asili has developed stunningly since it was first tasted, a typical characteristic of Giacosa's wines. Surprisingly precocious and evolved for a wine from this estate, it possesses a dark ruby color with an amber edge, and abundant quantities of tobacco, cherry liqueur, incense, spice box, and licorice in its flamboyant nose. It is like candy, fleshy, full-bodied, unctuous, and silky. This seamless classic should drink well young, and last for 12-15 years." RP Jun 2022
Robert Parker writes, "Bruno Giacosa told his maceration lasted 60 days. He is openly critical of the 1997 vintage ... That being said, his 1997s appear to be beauties. As critical as Bruno Giacosa was of his 1997s, I thought the wine was potentially outstanding, and brilliantly made." Published: Aug 26, 1999
