Domaine Meo-Camuzet Burgundy Wines

“He (Jean-Nicolas Méo) trained under (Herni) Jayer and he has evolved his own style. The wines that he makes are some of the best and most elegant you can find” ~Wine Spectator

When Henri Jayer spins gold from your vineyards, you know that you have a landmine. This is precisely Domaine Meo-Camuzet's circumstance, as prime land in Vosne-Romanee, Richebourg, Echezaux, and Clos de Vougeot enables the estate to produce some of Burgundy's finest bottles.

Domaine Meo-Camuzet History

Its history dates back to the early 20th century when Parisian politician Etienne Camuzet, purchased some of the best land in Burgundy. While generations of the family showed no interest in winemaking, they leased the land to talented upstarts across the region, one of whom was Henri Jayer. Jean-Nicholas Meo became one of Jayer's finest prodigies, rejecting his family's political background to take hold of the estate which originally lied in his uncle's hands.

After pursuing his master's degree in the United States and aiming to follow in the footsteps of his father, a political advisor to none other than Charles de Gaulle, Jean-Nicholas worked the vineyards at Domaine Meo-Camuzet and learned to create one of Burgundy's greatest pinot noirs. Now holding around 14 hectares, Meo-Camuzet wines are amongst the most sought after in the region, with the special approval of Henri Jayer marked on the bottles.
