In just over two decades, Bevan Cellars has transformed into one of Napa Valley and Sonoma County's most coveted wineries. The estate was founded by Russell Bevans, who also serves as the head winemaker for Carter Cellars. 

Bevan Cellars: A Russell Bevan Wine Project

Bevan Cellars was established in 2004 by Russell Bevan and Victoria de Crescenzo. The pair met while working in the dental industry in Minneapolis, quickly forming a bond through their love of wine. Russell Bevan, a Sonoma County native, then opted to open the winery in a small Sonoma facility before releasing the estate's inaugural 2005 vintage.

While Bevan and de Crescenzo held no formal winemaking experience, the former always had an interest in wine, writing a wine column during his time at Gonzaga University. Later, he worked as a Gallo distributor and was mentored by renowned winemakers Philip Togni and Bob Foley. 

Bevan Winery: Napa Valley and Sonoma County Vineyards

The project first started in the quiet Sonoma County sub-appellation of Bennett Valley, but has since expanded to showcase sites throughout Sonoma and Napa Valley, with a focus on the Oakville sub-appellation. By choosing vineyards according to their particular expression, Russell Bevan ensures the resulting wines reflect the distinguished character of their terroir. To coax out the finest aromatics, winemaking is performed with thoughtful decision-making and gentle follow-through in order to create intensely flavorful and texturally compelling wines.
