Chateau La Gaffeliere dates back to the 4th-century Gallo-Roman era, where the Villa du Palat, home of the famous poet Ausonius, was located. The site forms Saint-Emilion's "Golden Triangle," alongside Chateau Pavie and the Ausone Hills. Originally designated a Premier Grand Cru Classe status, La Gaffeliere represents one of the appellation's greatest winemaking legacies.
Its bottles are Merlot-dominant with an added touch of Cabernet Franc, exuding a signature elegance and refinement only found in neighboring estates. The powerful, racy, and silky harmony are added hallmarks of this coveted wine, which has seen iconic figures like Alexandre Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt lead the winemaking.
