Product Description
VM97 "The 2018 Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru has a very candied, aniseed-tinged bouquet that contains impressive intensity. The palate is medium-bodied with saturated tannins, lovely orange-zest infused red fruit, gentle but insistent grip with an arresting, white pepper/spicy finish that leaves the tongue tingling. Impressive and delicious, though it will need cellaring. Tasted blind at the Burgfest 2018 red tasting." NM for VM Nov 2022
DR96 "Charles van Canneyt thinks that the longevity of the best 2018s will surprise us in the future, and I suspect he may have a point when it comes to this effortlessly concentrated, complex Grand Cru. Aged in 45% new barrels, it's engagingly sweet, nuanced and juicy with velvety tannins, refreshing acidity for the vintage and a long, nuanced finish. Hard to keep your hands off it young, but give it time in bottle." TA for DR Oct 2019
