Pavillon Blanc du Château Margaux!
While Château Margaux is primarily known for its exceptional red wines, they also produce a limited quantity of white wine known as Pavillon Blanc. It is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, so offers great acidity and according to Robert Parker, "hints of pineapple, Thai lemongrass, orange blossoms and crushed rock ." Margaux - The most elegant of the 1st Growths
Most of you know that Chateau Margaux is know for it's elegance and the Pavillon Blanc is no exception. So little of this wine is made which makes it very rare and highly sought after. The late Paul Pontallier is the winemaker for the 2010, so these bottles represent history that cannot be repeated. I think we all know what happens when a craze is started on a Sauv Blanc. For around $230, you can grab these few bottles that you may never see again!
La Mission Haut Brion Blanc
To celebrate the Bordeaux Blanc's, we are also offering the 2012 LMHB Blanc! The honorary 1st Growth also makes a white with a blend of 84% Semillon and 16% Sauvignon Blanc is from the vineyard that used to be known as Laville Haut-Brion. Parker, in 2013, described it as: "killer dry white wine should drink well for 30-40+ years". Quite a deal compared to an Eagle White that may set you back about $5k.
