VM93+ (Paul Hobbs Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard Napa Valley) Inky purple. Captivating, deeply pitched aromas of cherry-vanilla, cassis, licorice and tobacco. Dense, sweet and intense, with serious grip and underlying structure to the bitter cherry, dark berry and oak spice flavors; an intriguing floral element comes up as the wine sits in the glass. Full but surprisingly light on its feet. This dense, sappy wine really stains the mouth, finishing long and sweet, with youthfully gripping tannins and a lingering perfume of crystallized flowers.
