2009 Domaine Sylvain Cathiard, Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru, Aux Malconsorts, Bottle (750ml)

(Domaine Sylvain Cathiard Vosne-Romanée "Aux Malconsorts" 1er Cru Red) A ripe and perfumed nose offers up classic Vosne-style spice and ripe black fruit aromas that are trimmed in enough wood treatment to mention. The palate impression is definitely on the robust side as the powerful middle weight plus flavors possess excellent concentration on the focused, solidly structured and mildly austere finish that delivers very fine length. This is clearly built-to-age and while it could be enjoyed now, for my taste it will need another 8 to 10 years to reach its full potential.
