RP100 "The deep garnet colored 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon contains 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It slips sensuously out of the glass with the most beautiful notions of warm cassis, redcurrant jelly, chocolate-covered cherries and cigar box plus wafts of incense, cinnamon stick, cardamom, dried lavender and star anise. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has exquisitely ripe, finely grained tannins and fantastic freshness lifting all those vibrant fruit and earthy nuances to a very long, mineral-laced finish." LP99 "The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, from a hot vintage, has 4% Cabernet Franc in the blend and, for the first time, 1% Petit Verdot. Deep brick in color, it is quite closed on the nose to begin, soon unfurling to reveal notes of fresh blackcurrants, juicy blackberries, and blackberry preserves, plus wafts of pencil lead, bay leaves, and fallen leaves. Full-bodied, rich, and explosive in the mouth, the palate has a taut backbone of firm, ripe tannins and fantastic freshness, finishing with epic length and depth.
