RP 95 "1998 Antagonists: This was a surprising effort (93% Grenache, 5% Syrah and 2% Viognier) from a challenging vintage throughout California. The dramatically higher percentage of Grenache has given it a mature Chateauneuf du Pape personality. Loads of kirsch liqueur, pepper, lavender and spice box are all present in this elegant yet complex, extremely perfumed, medium to full-bodied wine. It is fully mature and should be drunk over the next 4-5 years. The bouquet of this wine is stunning." (August 2011)
