Product Description

WS94 "A pure red, saturated with black cherry, black currant, violet, spice and mineral notes, showing a dense, almost chunky feel. A beam of vivid acidity cuts through, adding grace and focusing the flavors. Fine length. Best from 2022 through 2037. 130 cases imported." BS for WS May 2019

VM94 "The 2016 Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Clos de la Bussière is tightly-wound on the nose with blackberry, raspberry, hints of singed leather and spice. I appreciate the delineation here. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannin, a fine bead of acidity, chalky in texture with a grip and certainly impressive focus on the finish. This is an excellent Morey-Saint-Denis. Tasted blind at the 2016 Burgfest tasting." NM for VM Oct 2019

Neal Martin for RobertParker.com writes, "The test of a great winemaker is what he can do when his back is against the wall. The back in this case belongs to Christophe Roumier, whose vineyards lay directly in the firing line of the frost. Perhaps as you would expect, he overcame the challenges with a supremely assured set of 2016s that merely reaffirm his domaine as occupying the top echelon in the Côte d’Or." Published: Dec 29, 2017
