Product Description
RP97+ "Tasted blind, Roumier's 2015 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru is quite reticent, unfurling in the glass with a youthfully reserved bouquet of cherries, cassis, dark chocolate, peonies and espresso roast. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, deep and powerful, with a strikingly concentrated and multidimensional core, an ample endowment of rich, satiny tannin and a long, chewy finish. This is a ripe but structural wine that will demand—and reward—considerable patience: it's likely to prove one of the most long-lived red Burgundies of the vintage." WK for TWA Oct 2018
DR97 "From vines with an average age of 45 years. A sumptuous, super-ripe nose, but without any trace of jamminess. Very rich, suave and polished, with no rough edges and tremendous depth of flavour. Tannic of course, but without excessive extraction. There is plenty of grip on the finish, which is very long and perfectly balanced. Lush and seductive. (Drink between 2020-2040)" SB for DR Jan 2017
BH96 "An overtly spicy and floral-scented nose reveals additional notes of plum, cassis, orange pekoe tea and plenty of earth. The rich, bold, powerful and firmly muscular large-scaled flavors possess superb mid-palate concentration where the abundant dry extract also buffers the presently unyielding tannic backbone on the massively long finish. This is, simply put, spectacular and about the only nit is a discreet touch of backend warmth" AM for BH Jan 2018
