1998 Vosne Romanee Cros Parantoux - Burghound - Tasting note: While there are some secondary notes now evident, the beautifully elegant nose of Vosne spice and fresh, pure, intense and focused red pinot fruits is still relatively youthful even at 12 years of age. The rich, full-bodied, mineral-driven and impressively complex flavors have completely eaten their oak treatment, all of which is underpinned by buried and still moderately firm tannins plus excellent length. Though this is no longer a baby, it will probably require another 8 to 10 years to realize the full potential of this fine effort in magnum format. Tasted only once in this bottle size.
