Product Description
"Medium red. Expressive aromas of purple fruits, violet, licorice and spices. Precise and energetic but a bit youthfully clenched; perhaps a bit hardened by the sulfur addition two weeks before my tasting but without any rough edges. Finishes savory and long, with dusty tannins and very good cling. These vines now average 28 years of age, noted Groffier, and produced just 14 hectoliters per hectare in 2010." ST for VM Jan 2012
"Nicolas Groffier, who has taken over winemaking duties here, reported, and there was more phenolic maturity than in 2009. The wines are very concentrated owing to the small grapes. He loves the sugar/acid balance of the wines and added back about 10% of the stems during the fermentation."
