Product Description

JS99 "Blackcurrant with lime skin and ink pot in the nose. Very perfumed. Lead pencil. Full-bodied with chewy yet rounded edges to the tannins. Juicy and tannically dry. Reminds me of old BV Private Reserve from the 1960s." JS Nov 2023

AG98 "The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer To-Kalon Vineyard is stellar. Vertical and imposing, the 2021 captures all the brooding power of To Kalon in the more restrained style that is typical of Realm today. Crème de cassis, leather, lavender, mint and spice linger on the polished close. This is the first vintage that includes a touch of Cabernet Franc that was previously bottled separately and that adds a distinct floral/saline quality that is especially evident in the finish." AG for VM Dec 2023

LP98 "The 2021 Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has 5% Cabernet Franc in the blend. Deep garnet-purple in color, it explodes with a mushroom cloud of plum preserves, boysenberries, and creme de cassis with an undercurrent of Chinese five spice, cast-iron pan, and aniseed plus a waft of dusty soil. The full-bodied palate is rich and seductive, with firm, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness to support the generous black fruit layers, finishing long and spicy." LPB for TWI Feb 2024
