BH97 "Here the overtly spicy and densely fruited nose is more elegant than that of the Clos de la Roche and just as remarkably complex with a similar fruit profile. The pure and utterly seductive middle weight flavors exude a fine bead of minerality on the gorgeously textured finish where the balance is quite simply impeccable. As is virtually always the case with this wine there is so much dry extract that it imparts a viscous mouth feel and pushes the supporting structure so far to the background that this is finally ready for prime time. However it's important to observe that my strong sense of this wine's future is that it will be drinking just as well 20 years from now, perhaps even longer. Moreover, I really admire how the refined flavors just seem to dance across the palate and they are the epitome of what I like to describe as power without weight." AM for BH Jan 2015
