NM96 "Tasted at Goedhuis’s Burgundy tasting at the Saatchi Gallery. This is a fabulous Clos-de-la-Roche that vies with the ’99 for supremacy. It is bridled with a seductive bouquet, much more floral and feminine than other vintages with aromas of rose petal, Devonshire fudge, wild strawberries and acacia. Wonderful. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, supple tannins and an ethereal sense of symmetry that makes it stand out from the pack. Very elegant…almost nubile on the finish with the mineralite lingering on the aftertaste. Superb. Drink now-2025+ Tasted March 2010." NM for NMWJ Published: Sep 29, 2010
Allen Meadows for BurgHound writes, "There is even more aromatic complexity with similar and brilliant red and black fruit notes though not the spice with superbly sappy, concentrated and very pure flavors that display flat out incredible length and impeccable balance. This will join the ranks of some of the best vintages of Ponsot's Clos de la Roche, which is saying something. It is however built for the very patient.
