AG96 The 2019 Pinot Noir Clos du Ciel is the most reticent of these Pinots from Peter Michael. Bright red berry fruit, chalk, mint and white pepper are all finely knit. The Clos du Ciel sizzles with tension and energy, but it also needs at least a few years in bottle to be at its best.
LP96 The 2019 Clos du Ciel Pinot Noir is medium ruby-purple in color. It features fragrant notes of rose oil and candied violets over a core of kirsch, black raspberries, and redcurrant jelly, plus suggestions of wild thyme and forest floor. Full-bodied, the palate is wonderfully plush with generous red and black fruits and a spicy undercurrent, finishing with a beguiling burst of freshness.
