1999 Chateau Pavie, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Bottle (750ml)

This is a hedonistic, sweet, expansive, and unctuous wine. The acidity is low, and the color a saturated purple/black. The bouquet offers fabulous minerality along with copious quantities of thick, succulent, black raspberry, cassis, and cherry liqueur fruit, all nicely dosed with subtle smoky new oak. It is a wine of immense richness, layers of concentration, and a viscous, long finish that should ensure 30-40 years of drinkability. (RP)" (April 2001)
