Product Description
LP98 "The 2007 Opus One is deep garnet in color. It wafts out of the glass with a flamboyant perfume of dried roses, cinnamon stick, aniseed, and forest floor over a core of blackberry pie, blueberry preserves, and blackcurrant jelly. The full-bodied palate is laden with rich, expressive black fruits, supported by ripe, velvety tannins and seamless freshness, finishing very long and fragrant. This was the first year winemaker Michael Silacci co-fermented all the Petit Verdot with the Cabernet Sauvignon." LPB Jan 2023
JA98 "One of the vintages of the decade, and this remains luscious, concentrated, easy to fall in love with. Incense, sandalwood, cocoa bean, cigar box, crushed mint, olive tapenade, graphite, pencil lead, sea spray, classic Cabernet Sauvignon check boxes, real kick of spice on the finish, stretches out with great tannic arcitecture and a cushion of fresh acidities. Trace of heat on the finish, takes it in its stride, generous but measured." JA for IB Jun 2025
