In contrast to the general expressiveness of the Ech and the Grands Ech, here the nose is tight and reserved if stylish and classy with obvious spice and layered black and blue pinot aromas folding gracefully into rich, full and very intense medium rich flavors that possess positively superb balance on the gorgeously long finish. While it is perhaps not quite as complex as the very best here at present, there is so much underlying material that this appears more than capable of developing the missing depth with time in bottle.
