BH97 "Hints of sous-bois add breadth to the beautifully nuanced aromas of smoke, violets and a cornucopia of red fruit that is now beginning to reveal moderate secondary development. There remains fine intensity and power to the velvet-textured and concentrated medium-bodied flavors that exude a lovely minerality before joining with a seamless finish that seems to go on and on. Mugnier once told me that this is the finest wine he has ever made and I don't doubt it for a second. This is "thrill a second" juice that should drink well for another 20+ years, perhaps longer in magnum format, indeed to my taste, this is still on the way up. Even so, I was knocked out by the quality of this magnum and it should only continue to improve. In a word, brilliant." AM for BH Apr 2024
