Product Description
RP94 Morlet makes one Syrah from a 1,000-foot elevation vineyard in Bennett Valley. This is 100% destemmed and is very Côte-Rôtie-like, even though there is no cofermented Viognier in the blend. The 2014 Syrah Bouquet Garni shows wonderful lychee nut, peppery, meaty notes with black raspberries, blackberries, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel with good acidity, olive tapenade and a long, heady finish. This is just a beauty – sexy, lush and best drunk over the next decade.
AG94 (Morlet Family Vineyards Syrah Bouquet Garni Sonoma) A rich, dense wine, the 2014 Syrah Bouquet Garni is endowed with demi-glace-like richness and unctuousness. Game, smoke, leather and tobacco add aromatic nuances, but above all else, the 2014 is super concentrated. The effect of the third year of the drought is felt in the wine's slightly stressed personality. The fruit tones tend more toward the redder end of the spectrum, with plenty of red cherry jam and kirsch character coming through.
