Mongeard Mugneret Richebourg 2005 1.5L

$2,500
"A distinctly floral and slightly roasted nose offers up notes of spice, cassis and discreet earth nuances. There is excellent volume to the imposingly powerful and opulent broad-shouldered flavors that possess a sleek mouth feel, all wrapped in a well-detailed, highly complex and highly persistent finish. The mid-palate is not especially dense (though it's by no means dilute) and if there is a nit it's that the finish seems to lack a bit of vibrancy. Even so the underlying material is so good that this should continue to provide an excellent drinking experience over the long-term." (BH)
