Product Description

DR98 "Joseph Phelps produced a Cabernet from the Eisele Vineyard from 1975 to 1991 – some of the greatest wines ever made in the Napa Valley. This bottle was tasted throughout its initial opening, decanting and over an ensuing three hours. Just entering its tertiary phase, the nose is arresting in its balance of intensity and poise. Aromas of potting soil, brick dust and dried thyme are framed by the last remnants of dark fruits. The palate is supple yet bright, persistent yet enticing, wrapped up in a delicate grit. Still structured and very much alive, this has at least 10 years ahead of it before the freshness recedes, after which it will still be a delicious wine for another decade." Feb 2020
