RP100 "The medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Few and Far Between comes charging out of the gate with intense notes of crushed red and black currants, black cherries and mulberries over a crème de cassis and mincemeat core plus suggestions of baking spices and fragrant earth. Full-bodied, bold and oh-so-decadent, the palate features a very firm, velvety frame with layer upon layer of spiced black berries and a compelling earthy undercurrent, finishing with fantastic length and perfume." He was using consultant Philippe Melka, but he has been on his own for a number of years and the wine quality continues to be among the most singular and profound in all of Napa Valley. His outspoken personality doesn’t often sit well in conservative and quiet Napa, but he only needs to let his wines do the talking. Little else needs to be said or done.
