It was also one of the few disappointments in our tasting in London back in 2017. On this night, though, it is outrageously beautiful. Rich, dark and totally seductive, the 2009 is so giving. Despite its considerable power and warm-weather intensity, the 2009 retains terrific freshness. A wine of exceptional balance and harmony, the 2009 can be enjoyed now or cellared for several decades. Quite frankly, in this first flight the 2009 is superb.
