2017 Futo Estate, Oakville, Napa Valley, Bottle (750ml)

JD97 I love the 2017 Estate, which showed even better from bottle than barrel, always a good sign. More structured, full-bodied, tannic, and yet brilliantly balanced, it offers rocking levels of black and blue fruits, toasty oak, white flowers, and lead pencil. It has gained both weight and structure over its élevage and a solid 3-4 years of bottle age are warranted here. It should keep for over two decades.

JS97 Opulent and rich with iodine, blackberries, stone and hints of chocolate on the nose. Full-bodied and solid as a rock with fantastic tannin structure and a long, long finish. A wine for aging.
