"Romanée-St Vivant is one of the six grand cru reds that Aubert de Villaine produces out of his legendary, co-owned Vosne-Romanée property, sharing this particular vineyard between nine other owners, although Aubert has the biggest slice of the pie at 5.28 hectares. The aromatic complexity curling out of this particular glass is just incredible – soft, dense and floral, it has seductive notes of violets, blackberries, green tea and woodsmoke. This is still a baby, deserving of at least another ten years in bottle before really starting to open up.
