Product Description

1982 DRC Romanee Conti - Burghound Tasting note: (from yields of 40 hl/ha). Now bricked completely through. A wonderfully expressive nose that has reached full maturity reveals a striking breadth of aromas, including Asian spice, sous bois, forest floor, smoked game and hints of earth and leather plus an interesting note of baked brown sugar that introduces delicious, round, sweet and moderately concentrated flavors that are sappy and easy as the supporting tannins are now almost completely resolved on the solidly long finish. This isn't a great RC but it's actually a fine '82 as the huge yields render most wines no better than interesting. Indeed, the palate impression is denser than the reported yields would suggest. Drinking perfectly now. Tasted: Apr 28, 2007
