Product Description
BH98 Moderately firm reduction flattens the underlying fruit though the wood treatment is clearly present. On the palate, the broad-shouldered flavors are slightly finer, though not denser, than those of the Corton-Charlemagne while delivering flat out incredible persistence on the almost painfully intense bone-dry and overtly austere mineral-driven finale that is also exceptionally well-balanced as the only nit is a hint of warmth. This is basically a block of stone at present as the word 'compact' doesn't begin to describe how tightly wound this monument of a Montrachet is at present. Even so, the aspect that really struck me is just how incredibly long this is as the finish literally lasts for minutes. While it's almost always true of the Conti Montrachet, this is very much a 'buy and forget you own it' wine. Brilliant.
