Product Description

1984 DRC Grands Echezeaux - Burghound - Tasting note: Given the difficulties of the vintage, this was really quite a nice surprise as the expressive completely secondary nose was nicely complex and airy, offering notes of mature fruit, earth, spice hints and sous bois that continued on to the rich, sweet and delicious medium weight plus flavors, all wrapped in a long finish. Wines rarely ever completely escape their vintage and this one is no exception as with air there is a trace of finishing dryness in evidence but overall, this is a huge success for what was an extremely tough vintage in which to excel. Moreover, there is no rush to drink up as this is holding well and should continue to do so. Tasted: Mar 18, 2007
