Product Description
DR96 "Blended fruit from the Prince de Merode parcels, which were partially replanted ten years ago. The young vines were picked first and the fermentation is done almost completely with whole bunches and matured in new casks. In 2019, a powerful wind from the north concentrated all the elements of the grapes and the principal challenge was to not over-extract. The final result is superb, with a supple, forward cassis and plum fruit character, then just a touch of menthol." CC for DR Oct 2020
RP95 "The 2019 Corton Grand Cru has turned out brilliantly in bottle, wafting from the glass with a striking bouquet of dark berries, blood orange, potpourri, exotic spices, cedar and peonies. Full-bodied, layered and velvety, it's deep and concentrated, with lively acids, supple tannins and a penetrating, rose-inflected finish. It's the best Corton that the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti has produced to date." WK for TWA Jan 2022
