Product Description
RP98 "The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus, which is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Petit Verdot, was harvested much earlier, October 9-18, and aged 25 months in French oak (more than 90% new). There are only 300 cases of this wine, which has a striking floral nose with hints of licorice, burning embers, incense, blueberry and blackberry liqueur. It?s powerful, lightly tannic, extravagantly rich and a great classic from a fabulous terroir and impeccable winemaking and elevage. Drink it over the next 20+ years." (RP Oct 2014)
Dana Estates, Lotus Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley >br>
AG97 The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Lotus Vineyard is rich, creamy and expansive. Silky contours wrap around a core of dark red plum fruit, blood orange and spice, with a kick of French oak that lingers. The Lotus has come together very nicely. It represents a sort of middle ground between the Helms and Hershey, with more fruit and overall depth than the former, but less structure than the latter. I appreciate its mix of textural creaminess and vibrancy. I would prefer to drink the 2012 over the next decade or so.
