1970 Chateau Cos d'Estournel, Saint-Estephe, Bottle (750ml)

RP "Tasted at ?The Sampler? in South Kensington. It has been quite a few years since I tasted this Cos d'Estournel. This bottle had a much more herbaceous bouquet compared to eight years ago: undergrowth, tree bark, dusty mahogany bureau with vestiges of sweet red fruits eventually rising to the surface. The palate is foursquare and conservative with dusty black fruits and a dry, aloof finish that has its own ?classic? charm...(NM)" (September 2011)
