Product Description

RP97 "This is the first year that this wine was made from 100% estate-grown fruit from Continuum?s Sage Mountain vineyard. A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 2% Merlot, the 2012 Proprietary Red has a deep garnet-purple color and gorgeous cr?me de cassis, exotic spices, fragrant earth and Christmas pudding notions with touches of chocolate box and licorice. The palate is full-bodied and deliciously concentrated, with a firm, grainy-textured backbone supporting the impressive mid-palate density, finishing very long and harmonious." LPB for TWA Feb 2019

LP96 "A blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, and 6% Merlot, the 2012 Continuum was made with 100% of the fruit coming from Pritchard Hill. It is deep garnet in color and it charges out of the gate with exuberant notes of blackcurrant jelly, boysenberry preserves, and spice cake, plus wafts of iron ore, garrigue, and fallen leaves. Medium to full-bodied, firm and grainy, the palate is taut with muscular black fruits, delivering just enough freshness and opulence to give maximum satisfaction on the finish." LPB for TWI Jun 2023

Robert Parker writes, "The success of Continuum, a wine from Pritchard Hill made by Tim Mondavi and his sister Marcia, continues unabated. This is a beautiful vintage for Continuum, with a dense bluish/purple color and a beautiful nose of blueberries, violets, a touch of licorice, truffle and background oak. A complex, Bordeaux-styled wine, it is approachable and dramatic, even ostentatious, as many 2012s tend to be, so there’s no harm in drinking it now or cellaring it for another 20+ years."
