2014 Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux, Vosne-Romanee Premier Cru, Les Chaumes, Bottle (750ml)

"Healthy medium red Aromas of black cherry, mocha and game are enlivened by spices and pronounced minerality Powerful and penetrating but not sweet, with its black cherry, dark berry and licorice flavors conveying an impression of medicinal reserve Finishes with building tannins, notes of licorice and menthol and lovely length" ST for VM Mar 2017

Producer note: "I was met this trip by both Pascal Lachaux and his son Charles who has now taken over responsibility for the vinifications and is clearly assuming more and more responsibility for the day to day operations. Charles describes the 2014 vintage as yet another one where "September came to the rescue because if not I hesitate to imagine the quality of wines we would have made. The malos were finished early and thus it has been relatively easy to see the character of the wines emerge. I like them and while I would describe them as less serious and structured than the 2013s, this doesn't mean that they are less interesting or attractive. In fact it's good that we have earlier drinking vintages from time to time so that we can wait for the more structured vintages to properly mature." AM Jan 2016
