Product Description
AG94 (Arnot-roberts Cabernet Sauvignon California California) The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon California is the result of an unfortunate, but perhaps in the end quite fortuitous, mishap in the cellar in which different lots of Cabernet were accidentally blended together. When Duncan Arnot and Nathan Roberts tasted their 'accidental' blend they thought it tasted pretty good, so they fleshed out the finished wine with a few more components. The Cabernet Sauvignon California a blend of the three Cabernets; Clajeux, Fellon Ranch and Montecillo, with a broad California appellation (because the fruit is from different appellations, and a retro label that recalls the old Martin Ray Cabernets). As for the wine, it is terrific. Fellom Ranch seems to dominate, with its intense, huge fruit and overall structural profile. Lavender, violets, smoke and cedar add nuance over time. The 2012 should drink well relatively early, but it also has the pedigree to develop nicely for many years. Best of all, it is a steal.
