(Domaine Armand Rousseau Père et Fils Ruchottes-Chambertin "Clos des Ruchottes" Grand Cru Red) An adroit but not invisible application of wood frames cool, pure and highly aromatic nose of still moderately primary red and dark berry fruit, truffle and spice aromas that are beginning to display more earth influence. There is good richness and volume to the intensely mineral-driven flavors that terminate in a beautifully complex, lengthy and impeccably well-balanced finish that remains youthfully austere. This is very classy and though it remains youthful, the balance is so good that it could easily be enjoyed now. A superb 2011 and one of the stars of the tasting.
