DR98 "This Cabernet Sauvignon from Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is an exceptional expression of the 2022 vintage, aged 22 months in 100% new French oak. Made entirely from Clone 4 Cabernet Sauvignon, the fruit was picked between 3 September and 14 September, capturing optimal freshness and balance. The soils at Las Piedras, composed of alluvial fallout, gravelly and shattered rock cobbles, are incredibly well-draining, contributing to the wine’s focus and refinement. It is immediately fragrant and offers stunning wet slate minerality, aromatic sagebrush, white pepper, and elegant cedar spices with espresso bean nuances. Medium- to full-bodied, the wine delivers exceptional depth of dark fruit character, with blackberry and black cherry at its core.
