Product Description
Jeb Dunnuck writes, "Dramatically different from the Red Wine, the 2022 Syrah Life & Death reveals a slightly deeper ruby/plum hue as well as a gamey, classic Syrah perfume of blackberries, bouquet garni, ground black pepper, and smoked bacon fat. It's full-bodied, plush, has a round, sexy mouthfeel, and a blockbuster finish." BT 96-99 Published: Aug 15, 2024
Lisa Perrotti-Brown for The Wine Independent writes, "Made from 100% Syrah, the 2022 Life and Death Syrah comes from Stolpman Vineyard and Bien Nacido. It was made using 18% whole clusters and was matured for 21 months in French oak barriques, 61% new. Notes of blackberry jelly, violets, kirsch, and underbrush jump from the glass, followed by hints of black pepper and licorice. The full-bodied palate has firm, rounded tannins with great freshness, finishing long and floral. This is the first time this label is 100% Syrah. 575 cases were made."
