Lisa Perrotti-Brown for The Wine Independent writes, "Made from 100% Syrah, the 2022 Life and Death Syrah comes from Stolpman Vineyard and Bien Nacido. It was made using 18% whole clusters and was matured for 21 months in French oak barriques, 61% new. Notes of blackberry jelly, violets, kirsch, and underbrush jump from the glass, followed by hints of black pepper and licorice. The full-bodied palate has firm, rounded tannins with great freshness, finishing long and floral. This is the first time this label is 100% Syrah. 575 cases were made." BT 95-97 Published: Sep 9, 2024
