DR99 The 2022 Romanée-Conti is an extraordinarily lovely wine, boasting profuse red and black fruit, spice and floral notes. This wine was one of the revelations of the 2022 en primeur tastings. Today it seems less open and approachable than La Tâche at this stage, and shows a bit more influence from the cask. This wine is still sublime and doubtless will reopen to seduce with its charms, but at this point the magnificence of the 2022 La Tâche surpasses it. 8,332 bottles produced in 2022
AG98 Romanée-Conti can be a rather elusive, at times intellectual wine. There are no such issues with the 2022. Dark and powerful in feel, the 2022 Romanée-Conti has some of the brooding intensity of the Richebourg but delivers with a touch more grace, a touch more elegance. Savory and floral overtones weave through a core of dark-toned fruit in a Romanée-Conti that impresses with its substance and overall feel. Magnificent.
