DR96 Enjoyed recently about a year after bottling, this seems to be opening up well. Given the warm 2022 vintage, it is striking for its freshness, which was not so apparent in previous tastings, leading me to conclude that there is more substance than I had initially thought, although it seems to be showing more vanilla spice from the barrel ageing at this particular stage. I would wait another five to seven years before opening and drink over the next 30.
AG95 The 2022 Echézeaux Grand Cru is absolutely exquisite, not to mention a significant step up in the range. Impossibly silky tannins and deep, penetrating aromatics give the Echézeaux its seductive personality. Medium in body and polished, with phenomenal balance, the Echézeaux shows how compelling the vintage is. There is no heaviness at all, nor any sign of a growing season marked by severe heat and drought.
