JS98 "This multilayered, exuberant grenache explodes with delicious fruit, spice, dark chocolate, toasted almond, sandalwood and crushed stone aromas and flavors. Dried strawberries, plum skin and a hint of coffee beans interplay with notes of mint and licorice. It’s full-bodied and layered with a broad, velvety structure and a very long finish. A lot going on on the palate. Delicious. Really well made and precise. Drink or hold." JS May 2024
LP97 "The 2021 Unanswered Prayers Grenache comes from Bien Nacido, Rancho Boa Vista, and Sanford & Benedict Vineyards. Deep garnet-purple colored, notes of candied violets, boysenberries, black raspberries, and charcoal soar from the glass, followed by hints of wild sage and dusty soil. Full-bodied, the palate is taut with muscular red and black fruit flavors, supported by a refreshing line and silky tannins, finishing long and layered. The composition is 76.5% Grenache with 11.3% Syrah, 5.5% Mourvèdre, 4% Petite Sirah, and a 2.7% splash of the White Wine (Chardonnay, Roussanne, and Marsanne) from this year. It was made with 42% whole clusters and aged 20 months in French oak, 38% new." LPB for TWI Sep 2024
