Product Description
LP95 "The 2021 Charlemagne Grand Cru zips out of the glass with vibrant notes of fresh grapefruit, lemon tart, and lime blossoms, with hints of struck flint, sea spray, and shaved ginger. The light to medium-bodied palate has a silky texture and fantastic tension, framing the intense citrus and chalky flavors, finishing long and steely. Coming from a challenging vintage plagued by frost, rain, and disease pressure, the final yields here were tiny, yet the resulting wine has incredible energy and persistence. This is a remarkably Chablis-like expression of Bonneau du Martray, in the best possible way, and it should age impressively. Note that from this year, the name was changed from "Corton-Charlemagne" to "Charlemagne."" LPR for TWP Aug 2025
